Thank you for showing interest in the Small Engine Repair program offered by the Great Bay Community College. Our courses are non-credit and offer no degrees in Small Engine Repair Technology at this time. Each student receives a certificate of achievement upon successful completion of each course. EETC and OPE certification examinations are available but only recommended to qualified technicians and students. We welcome these technicians and students to take our Certification level refresher courses of a 16 hour duration. All other courses include 8 hours of classroom and 24 hours of "Hands On" shop experience for a total of 32 hours. Students are encouraged to work on their personal project but adequate training equipment is available. We share approved and well equiped shop and laboratory areas. Our present program is considered a self interest workshop primarily for preventative maintenance needs of the home owner with small engine equipment. A student who wishes to choose the Outdoor Power Equipment industry as a career will find our courses are of good introduction but many more hours of concentrated study and large expenditures in tools are necessary to gain qualified technician status. We are accredited by the Equipment and Engine Training Council (EETC) and the Outdoor Power Equipment and Engine Service Association (OPEESA) and are an Authorized Testing Center for their Technician Certification examinations. Our goal is to have our own facility soon. We can then offer a one year certificate program which would be transferable to a two new year Associate Degree curriculum. Interested people can register or receive more information by calling our Pease campus at (603)427-7600 or the Business Training Center at (603)334-6306 or online at www.greatbay.edu.
